Edit or Cropp Your Videos with Movavi Video Editor

In simple terms cropping videos involves deleting some of the outer parts of a video – essentially altering its frame. It may sound fairly basic but it is actually one of the most important editing tools out there, as it can be used to remove any unnecessary parts from a video or alter its frame and refocus it.

To begin editing your video, launch Movavi Video Editor and click ‘Create a project in full feature more’ to enter the editor. After that add the video that you want to crop, by clicking ‘Add Media Files’ then browsing and selecting it.

The video that you added will appear in the ‘Timeline’ in the lower part of Movavi Video Editor’s interface. Click on it to select it, then click on the ‘Crop’ icon right above the ‘Timeline’ (it will resemble a square with a diagonal line inside it).

In the ‘Preview’ window on the right, you should notice a frame that you can resize and position to denote the new frame that you want for your video. Anything outside of that frame will be cropped but if you want to ensure the aspect ratio of the video remains the same, check the ‘Constrain Proportions’ box on the left side of Movavi Video Editor’s interface.

When you are satisfied with the new frame click ‘Apply’ – and Movavi Video Editor will crop your video according to the frame you’ve set. If you wish you can save the video immediately afterward, or you could take advantage of the other features in the editor to cut and join video segments, apply special effects or filters, add customizable text fields, insert audio tracks, include animated transitions, enhance the video quality, and much more.

Movavi is one of my all time favorite video editors. I use this tool and Sony Vegas PRO for making beautiful videos for YouTube channel. I got Movavi pro for free during a giveaway and it’s worth buying the PRO version.
