B is for Bible The Unique Book
The second day at A to Z event!
The letter for today is “B”
Whenever I think of this letter B the first word comes to my mind is the “Bible”
Though thousands of people wrote about this unique book during the centuries, it still stands fresh when we say something about it.
Those who tasted its sweetness can say or write a volume about it.
But today I would like to say a few things about its history and uniqueness of this living book.
Bible The Unique Book Also A Sacred Book
Bible is the most sacred book of the Jewish and Christian religions. They consider it as the ‘Word of God’ and observe it very religiously what is mentioned in it.
It is also known as the “Holy Scriptures”.
Unique among the book of the world is the Bible. It is still the best selling book. Any person can find the eternal truth and salvation by reading it, even if he be a fool he can find the way of salvation in it.
The Word “Bible” Means BOOK
The word “Bible” means BOOK, in fact, the name Bible comes from a Greek word that means books. Hence it is known as the book of books.
The Old Testament begins with the account of God’s creation of the universe and the heavens and the earth. Then goes on to tell about the history and religious life of ancient Israel from about 1300 B.C. to the 100’s B.C. The New Testament covers about 100 years. It begins with the description of Jesus Christ’s birth and ends about A.D. 125.
The Bible tells how God dealt with His people from time to time and through the early days of the Christian church.
God is the chief character of the events in the Bible, though God’s role may not always be immediately apparent.
The Bible does not define God or try to prove His existence, instead, it testifies to who God is, what He does in the world and what He expects from human beings. It is obviously produced by people through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Although the Bible is often thought of as a single book, it actually consists of many books. The Hebrew Bible has 24 books; the Protestant Bible has 66 books, and the Roman Catholic Bible has 73 books.
Bible The Unique Book Is The Most Read Book
It is the most widely read book in history and it is also the most influential book in the world. It is also the most translated and distributed book in the world. Numerous people found solace in this book than any other book in the world. Millions of people have been named after the biblical characters and the names of many cities and other places come from this unique book.
Millions of artwork have been done based on biblical characters and stories. Volumes have been written about this book of books and the main character in the book the Creator God. Every event mentioned in the Bible exactly happened as it is mentioned in the Bible. It is the book of books: the story about the death of the famous Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet
Its unique power/influence changed millions of hearts
Yes, its unique power or influence changed millions of hearts and it is still continuing and changing the lifestyle of millions.
The most translated and distributed book in the world
The number one position of the most translated and distributed book in the world is the Bible.
Numerous people found solace in this book than any other book in the world.
Millions of people have been named after the biblical characters and the names of many cities and other places come from this unique book.
Millions of artwork have been done based on biblical characters and stories. Volumes have been written about this book of books and the main character in the book the Creator God.
Many events prophesied in the Bible exactly happened as it is still happening in these days.
Bible is the book of books:
The story about the death of famous Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet Sir Walter Scott illustrates this:
Oh his deathbed, Scott, the owner of a great library, called his son and said: “Bring me the book!” “Which book,” asked the son, Scott replied, “There is only one book, it is the Bible.”
That book so impressed him as did no other—is recorded in the poem he had already written:
“Within this awful volume lies
The mystery of mysteries:
Happiest they of the human race,
To whom their God has given grace
To read, to fear, to hope, to pray,
To lift the latch, to force the way;
But better had they ne’er been born,
Who read to doubt, or read to scorn.”
The Bible is no doubt the most unique of all books and its uniqueness may be seen from the following considerations:
- In its source.
- In its style
- In its supernatural authority and inspiration. Because of the uniqueness of its source and style, there needs to be an explanation of why this book is superior to all other sacred books of competing religions which contend that they are authoritative for man. Why is the Bible superior to all other sacred books and unique as a revelation of religious truth? Because it is divinely inspired. And inspiration is not accomplished in isolation. Several factors are related to it.
a) Selection:
b) Revelation:
c) Inspiration:
d) Transmission
4. In its subject matter.
5. In its standard as authoritative and divine.
6. In its ability to satisfy the need of mankind universally.
No doubt, one can easily experience the uniqueness of this wonderful book if he or she approaches it with faith.
May you have a real-time encounter with this unique book.

I love reading The Bible, Phil,
first time I read it when I was 20 years of age and it made a lasting impression on me. I especially like the stories of Samson and Dalila, and the stories describing Jesus’s travels with his apostles.
