Also, read this endnote before going to the infographic, this is in reference to my comment I posted on Enstine’s space. Read below my comment and his reply:

Link Building – My Comment

Hi Enstine/Dan
It is good to see Dan on your page,
The 5 strategies pointed out by Dan is very important to note.
I fully agree with that, but I doubt the one on the broken link!
Since many may not like to point out their flaws, even if it helps them other way round
many take it on a different look, I have many such experiences, especially with the so-called pro. bloggers!! So I completely stopped such strategies! So you said 80% of them may respond! I really surprised to read that, anyway, I am so glad to see you, Dan, here at Enstine’s page.
I am going to share this infographic on my page with due credit.
May you both have a great time of interaction and sharing
Keep up the good work. 🙂
Best

Link Building – Dan’s Reply:

Hi Philip, Thanks for sharing the Infographic; it’s well appreciated.

I understand your reservation on the resulting level of the broken link strategy; there are a couple of things you have to be aware of for this strategy to work for you.

1. You shouldn’t point out the error in public, you should do that via email and your email should be very polite. Don’t make the blogger look foolish, rather make it look like you understand it’s an oversight because he’s busy.

Once, a guy tried to pull off the broken link strategy on me right on my comments area, of course, I ignored him and most bloggers would because it’s quite embarrassing.

2. You should endeavor to do the broken link strategy with medium-sized blogs or blogs within your size bracket. If you run a PR0 site and you approach a PR7 blog; you may not get a response.

3. The post you want the blogger to link to must be properly written; that you showed him a broken link on his blog does not mean he’d automatically link to any post you present; NO, he’ll still want to check out the post to be sure it’s deserving of a mention on his site.

4. Don’t send more than one link to the blogger, he could see that as being selfish and self-serving. The best approach is to endeavor to find more than one dead link on his site and then present him with other quality links for replacement besides yours; that way, he sees that you really care.

Always remember that blogging is all about relationships; the more you care, the more you are respected and sought after.

Cheers bro

I haven’t used one yet, but working on that. I know it does pump up the level of sharing content. Indeed, guest posts work well. Every time I do one or a “round up” of bloggers, I do get many more comments and shares.

    Great advice!

I like the idea of searching for resource pages. I hadn’t considered that before.

I have plans to create some infographics myself but it’s one of those things that take time to learn and implement.

  9. Nice one, in times like this, when the bewared google penguin i turning searchresults up and down all over the world, I for one feel the need to take a look at how I am buildning my backlinks. I found some good tip in this post that I will try to implement on my work online. Guest blogging seems like one of the best ways to make good backlinks these days. But I guess a mixed bag is always to prefer.

    Hey Dan,

I have been commenting on blogs for backlinking and it is a good way to get backlinks as well as make connection with people.

Content curation is really nice way to get noticed on social media and backlinking.

Checking broken links in our niche and checking resource pages in our niche are the points which I didn’t know about. I am going to try out this.

Thanks for sharing and inspiring Dan and Philip sir.

  13. Great infographic Phil, beautiful stuff.
I’m glad to see that in the year 2019, this stuff still works, for the most part.
Google doesn’t change as much as some people would have you believe.

    • Hi Nikola,

You are right, most of the strategies are evergreen.

Most times, whatever adds value to the user is supported and rewarded by Google, so one rule of thumb is to focus to give your blog readers a good experience.

      Thanks for stopping by bro
