These are the two platform’s name comes to our mind when we hear the name WORDPRESS

We all know that WordPress is a wonderful platform which most of the bloggers are now using. But here is a confusion when you hear about two platforms with almost two similar names, that is: Worpress.org and WordPress.com

The confusion is which one we need to use?

In this infographic, the famous pro blogger and web designer Anh Nguyen from Vietnam differentiate these two platforms.

To get an in-depth idea about these two platforms we need to go back to the history of its origin.

  4. Phil, what I love most about you as a blogger is how you really embody the “sharing is caring” attitude, like giving a lot of credits to the source.

When I first started blogging, I was also very confused when it comes to these two WordPresses and actually ended up using WordPress.com, thinking it was the same thing. I hope this infographic can help your audience choose the right platform for them. :)

    Have a great day,

WordPress.com can easily shut down your site and all your hard work will go down the drain. So self-hosted WordPress is a no-brainer.

    • Luis, Philip,

It’s true that WordPress.com states in its’ Terms of Service that they can “terminate your access to all or any part of their Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately.”

I haven’t heard of any major sites being suspended by WordPress.com for no good reasons though. Then again, most services reserve the rights to suspend users that violates their Terms of Service, including web hosting like BlueHost.

      I hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Anh

    Hi Philip,
That is a great infographic. I will save it for later with the html coding you provided.
When I first started blogging, quite a long time ago now. I was very confused when it comes to these two WordPresses. I did use WordPress.com, and came to find out the limits it had, and how WordPress.org had so
much more to offer a blogger or marketer. Thanks so much for offering this info, it will be very valueable
to people just starting out using WordPress.
