India: The Largest Democratic Country in the world elected Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP)  leader and Chief Minister of Gujarat State as its new Prime Minister in the just concluded election.

The world’s biggest election result is out today and the people are in the celebration mood. Here in this post I am going to note down some of the foreign media’s reaction to the newest developments in the Indian political arena or the victory of Narendra Modi.

The interesting fact is that most of these media before the election literally neglected to cover the largest democratic or the biggest election in this universe. To know more on this line please watch this video by John Oliver on Indian Election 2014.  Though it is a bit hilarious one there is something to think seriously too. Hope this election augers new beginning for India in the areas of development, distribution, infrastructure and other related areas. Also cutting down on corruption through electronic systems should be another goal. All these down, other things will follow in employment, poverty alleviation etc. A good collection of the foreign media coverage in your post. Thanks.

  3. Hi Philip,

Yes, I am SO glad the elections are over! How I stay away from politics!! So, this was a huge relief for me I would say :)

I hope with the change of Government, things will get better. I wouldn’t want to comment how it was earlier because there can be a never ending debate on that issue, but let’s just hope and pray for the very best, and that Mr. Modi plays his part and really delivers all that he says he would.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead :)

  4. This is the sign of change that would come. We have got a leader after a long time and we all have lot of expectations from Mr. Modi. The reaction of foreign media tells what an important change has occurred in India and what kind of change is yet to come.. the change which got initiated with Modi’s victory.
I wasn’t a politics fan till now but this election made me interested in politics, in India. This election has changed a lot.. now, we have to look what kind of change will come in future..
