Last updated on on November 14, 2018. Yet Another Death In The Family Of Google.  After the death of Knol and few others in the family of Google, yet another death is going to happen very soon.   Yes, Google has decided to shut its shop of Google+ (A prestigious social media project of Google)  in the next ten months in the wake of a potential data leak.

Google+

In fact, Google Plus (G+) started with much enthusiasm is going to the dust with a sad note.  It so happened in connections with a potential data leak/user information expose, but there are different versions to this story and Google’s explanation is worth noting.

Google has a habit of killing products and services, platforms like Knol etc died. Check out who is in line next Share on X

Google’s version to this flaw is like this: The flaw was an unexploited API bug discovered and fixed internally before anyone externally found it”

Anyways Google is going to shut it’s shop Google+ soon.   The reason they put it up is the non-participation of its users.   They say,  “Businesses will still be able to use the service as an internal chat channel, though.

The New York Times in its latest report said,  “Google said on Monday that it would shut down Google Plus, the company’s long-struggling answer to Facebook’s giant social network after it discovered a security vulnerability that exposed the private data of up to 500,000 users.

While concluding this post I would like to add an ENDNOTE  that is a comment I posted one of the LinkedIn post shared by Liz Ryan the Author, founder, and CEO of Human Workplace.  She said, Oh dang I forgot that existed”

My comment: It is not a new thing with Google! They shut many of their projects before! Expect more in the future too! So sad to note this. They shut their Knol shop just after completing 2 years! many lost their valuable shares. Best Wishes To Google!!!

Yes, indeed this is not a new thing with Google!  The following Infographic will give you a brief story of it!

    Hi Philip,
This is really a very shocking news!
A timely information about the demise of a social platform.
As you said, this is not the first time that Google do such things to their products and services.
I am sure many subscribers will suffer or lose their notifications and posts.
Thank you for sharing this alert.
