Not all who wander are lost.
The iconic quote by J.R.R. Tolkein has practically become the anthem of travellers across the globe. While I’m all for thrilling adventures, let’s be honest, if you don’t even know what time of day it is, then so help you, god, you are a little bit lost!
Whether you’re travelling for work, vacationing with the family or tinkering with a bit of soul-searching, finding your bearings is vital to make the most of all your travels –especially if you’re quite a few time zones away from home, jet-lagged and absolutely clueless about whether you should be eating breakfast or dinner. If you travel often, then I’m sure you understand the plight of having to figure out what time it is when you enter a new time zone, while simultaneously having to calculate your home time. Of course, smartphones easily solve the problem of keeping track of time in multiple cities; but come on, let’s be a little classy here, shall we? What you need is not a gimmick, but a bona fide luxe watch that takes care of all your travel woes and looks absolutely stunning while at it!
If you think about it, there are luxury watches that are strictly devised for space explorations, diving, dress wear, so on and so forth –but there’re no categorical ‘travel watches’ in most collections. So, it becomes a little tricky for you to find a watch to travel with.
To point you in the right direction, Breitling watches, I find, create some of the best tickers for travels. You could either go visit showrooms to check them out, or you can make it a whole lot easier by hitting online dealers Breitling Watches retailers like Ethos Watch Boutiques who can help you filter out your requirements to find the best of Breitling. The category of travel watches would fall under the functionalities or features of ‘GMT’, ‘world time’, ‘dual time’ etc. So check them in, and what you get is essential watches ideal for travel. But, even then, every model might not fit your bill.
There are a couple of generic considerations you need to know before deciding on which kind of travel timepiece is right for you:
Readability
For starters, readability of the two/multiple times is the biggest factor. A watch that can clearly differentiate the times, in a simple, neat fashion is a great choice. But then again, you can make a few compromises here, depending on what your needs are. If you’re just travelling back and forth between two cities for work, then a simple display is enough for your requirements. But if you’re planning on backpacking across the globe, then you might want to go in for a more extensive complication that might not be quite as easy on the eyes, but definitely, comes with its own set of valuable advantages.
Here’s a Breitling that keeps it simple and straightforward. The simplicity is striking, and it’s great because really, it’s all you need in today’s world where you’ve got plenty of other instruments to help you out along the way.
Breitling Avenger A3239011/BC35/170A
The Avenger is all about a high readability, no-nonsense approach to timekeeping while traveling. Simplicity cuts it perfectly, don’t you agree?

If you’re looking for a more modern timepiece, then this analogue and digital display dual time ticker are what you need. The digital display makes the readability of both time zones easy as pie. Besides, it looks great! Which brings us to the next point…
Versatility
Do you travel mostly for work? Are formal business meetings a part of your travel schedules? Do you engage in active sports on your travels? Might we expect you on a cliff or underwear on your next adventure? Consider the nature of your travels, what drives you to different time zones, and you’re one step closer to working out what kind of watch you need. But as a general rule of thumb, I’d recommend a timepiece that’s versatile. One that works equally well for formal, casual, or sporty events is an all-rounder travel watch and has my vote for sure.
This is the kind of design that works for any occasion, and ensures you just need to travel with one timepiece, to tackle whatever comes at you –be it a business meet or a mountain hike:
Breitling Chronomat AB042011/BB56/375A
The Chronomat 44 GMT is a favorite among travelers –high on functionalities and aesthetics alike. Or if you prefer a simpler option with fewer complications, then something like this might be more up your alley:
Breitling Superocean A17392D7/BD68/162A
On the other hand, if you know you’re the adventurous kind of traveler, and sure as heck won’t be caught dead wearing a suit and tie attending a formal do, then you can safely go in for a more sporty-looking timepiece like this one here:

Dual Time or World Time?
This is an important question to ask yourself: Do your travels take you far and wide across the globe, or are they limited?
The previous models were all dual time, but this one here is perfect for the world traveler, displaying time for multiple cities across the world:

Strap on any of these winners, and let’s ensure your wanderings take you far and wide, without getting you lost! Bon voyage, folks!

Hi Brother Phil,
You came up with a grand collection of watches this time.
When we travel or live in a different time zone, we always think of the time of the other place. Since I make frequent phone calls to India, I have the need to know the local time in India before I make a call. So, what I do now is keeping two mobiles with me, one with the local time in U.K and the other mobile which is set with the local time in India so that I know what time is in India whenever I make a call.
Some of the watches listed have the feature of showing dual time in it. I am hoping to buy one with the dual time soon so that I can avoid using two mobiles for the purpose.
Once agan thanks for the wonderful share.
Keep Sharing.

Thanks, Philip,
It’s an interesting post for me.
You know? I love the watch as not often use the phone instead of watch.
My Dad used to tell me that the people who value their time are valuing themselves. The time isn’t a cycle so you have to know what time to do what. After quitting my job and became a full-time blogger I could not keep update with my time. I just do the routine works and follow my checklist.
However, I still love a watch. Breitling Chronomat is the most interesting one in the listing.
Thanks for sharing…

Wow, amazing watches. I had always dreamed to buy one luxury watch. I have recently stated a blog and will try to earn enough so I can buy my favorite one. I love redo brand. Thanks for motivating me.
Thanks
Tracy
Hey Philip,
Having a watch with the different features is always great. The readability should be good. There should be the proper time according to the different time zone.
Though I haven’t noticed any watch which can show the time for many time zones at the same time. But still, I would love to have one.
Glad to read the post.
ENoy the day.

Breitling Professional EB501022/BD40/176E is an excellent watch for travel; affordable and accessible. In fact all Breitling watches reliable and durable, yet not so expensive that if they were lost or stolen, it would incur a significant financial loss.
Great article, thanks for sharing.
