L is for London: Meet My Friends From This Beautiful Land Called London

London The Capital of England

Before  writing about these personalities I would like to note down a few words about the city called London.

It  is the capital and most populous city of England and  the United Kingdom, which is on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennium.   It was founded 2000 years ago by the Romans who named it Londinium.   It has been Western Europ’s largest city for centuries.  In 1700 its population was just 575,000 people and now it has a population of  more than 8.6 million people.   It is the biggest city in middle Europe, and the world’s largest financial center.  Today it is not only the largest city but also one of the most visited city.

Blogging is one of the major mediums to make friends online and to build relationship with each other.

I earned a good number of friends online only after actively involving in blogging,  Once upon a time (a few years back) it was not even in our dreams or even an un-imaginable thing to meet people or speak to them from a far away country. The only medium of communication was telephone calls, or correspondence through postal services. But Oh my goodness! What a tremendous change happened and are taking place every day.  Yes,  now we are  in the world  computer or speed age!   Now we can see people and communicate each other with the click of a mouse!

In this post I would like to write a few words about two wonderful personalities I met through this medium.  They are Murali Mukundan And Reji Stephenson, Both of them are from the land of London.
Both of them are wonderful writers in their respective fields, and the amazing thing is that both of them are from my own native land Kerala (Often called or known as “God Own Country) read a post about my state  SOME AMAZING FACTS ABOUT MY NATIVE LAND And Also watch this beautiful video about Kerala.

Coming to the subject:  I met Muralee Mukundan  online via a Malayalam Blogger’s group and our interaction through comments developed in such a way that it still continues with more ties.

His satirical writings are the talk among the Malayalam bloggers, of course, most of his writings are in Malayalam!  He is an Amateur Magician and a Security Officer by profession.  He is a family man, and this wonderful personality jot down informative and educative blog posts mixing up with humorous anecdotes and human interest stories connected with families and friends.  That helps the readers to read his long blog posts with fully illustrated with colorful and funny pictures.

Though he is a very busy person with his professional job as well as his involvement in different cultural associations in London and other places, he finds time to write blogs and to write constructive feedback to his blog commentators.  He finds time to reply to his readers, always there will be something to laugh and at the same time there is something solid to ponder upon.

His style of writing is unique in itself, that the readers once start reading will not go back without saying something about it in the comment box.  Most of the time he writes long blog posts which people very interestingly read.

Due to the British influence (British Rule) in India, we the Malayalees (Keralites) used to call English people  “Seemakkar” (far away country people) Muralee says this in his page intro:

My dwelling place is “Seema” or Bilathi pattanam (London) the biggest city in the United Kingdom.

And the funny side to note is that he says about him: A Mandan in London ..! ലണ്ടനിൽ ഒരു മണ്ടൻ … !  That means, A Fool in London”  Mandan means fool in Malayalam language!

This is what Muralee Mukudan and his style of writing.

I am so glad that I met this wonderful and intelligent “Mandan” person online via blogging

I wish him all success in all his endeavors.

Thanks Muralee Bhai (Brother) Nice that we met through this amazing world called INTERNET!

As I said, his roots too are from Kerala, one of the southern states in India. After getting acquainted with him, I came to know that his father was a District Judge in Kerala, the late Mr. C. Stephenson.

He is a family oriented person and a strong believer of Jesus Christ. He is currently living in London with his wife and two little angels named Stacey and Steffy aged six and two.

He is an Engineering graduate with specialization in Electronics and Telecommunication. He is a creative writer, and his pages tell it all. Presently he deals with the subjects like Blogging, Social Media, Online Marketing, Technology and Reviews.

The ‘About’ column of his blog describes him as someone who, after joining a creative writing course from the Writers Bureau, U.K, got inspired by few successful bloggers and aspires to be one among them.

According to him, he is just another person who doesn’t have good writing skills. He says, “It is not my job to rate my own writing. It is up to those who read my blog to make a judgement. ”

  2. Hi Brother Phil,

Thank you very much for mentioning my name along with Murali Bhai(Brother) . It is a privilege that anyone mentioning our name in their websites.

My blog was mentioned the corporate website of rounds.com few weeks back and now it is here.

Regarding Murali Bhai, I totally agree with your opinion. When anyone read his blog for the first time, they find his own typical style of writing very attractive. He is able to mix serious contents along with jokes in his lengthy posts. That is a special skill of him.

Regarding my blog, I am once again saying that I am not a good writer and on the process of learning the skill. It is those who read have to give an opinion.

Once again thank you very much for mentioning me in this post.

    Have a great day.

I just came here to congratulate Reji Stephenson for this achievement. It is always a pleasure to read his articles on blog and to talk to him.
Reji… Your father was a District Court Judge? Now we have one more thing in common as we both are related to this noble profession of law in some way. And I adore your sweet angels. Lots of love to them. :)
And you said that you cannot rate your writing. Let me have the honour of doing that. Although, I am no one to rate it… but would just like to share that I find your articles informative and interesting. The blog stats and the number of followers you have manged to get in such less time itself speak of your wonderful writing skills. As they say, truth does not need proof. Likewise, your writing skills need no express rating. Your blog is your rating. All the best for your future. Hope to see your name shine in ‘n’ number of such platforms :)

  5. Hi Phil

First of all I strongly appreciate the idea of your post series it is amazing and one would remain curious to see its next episode as everyone would be waiting to see the next one with M alphabet (Lolz).

I am already in connection with Reji on Facebook but never knew he is friend of my friend as well and much impressed to see more about him and the other one Mr Muralee as well.

It is right that physical distances can never create the distances in hearts and minds and they remain connected while being oceans away from each other.

Thanks a lot for sharing such wonderful account of two nice persons.

    • Hi Brother Mi Muba,

Good to hear from you that you are also a close friend of Brother Phil. As long as people are good with their hearts and behaviour, it will make an impact on others.

so it may not be surprising that the physical distances or borders between two countries will never be a hindrance for good friendships.

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. Have a great day.
