Google +  the Giant Social Media Platform Is No More!

This is in continuation of our previous post on Google Plus’s death.   As predicted months before by Google, the death of Google plus happened on April 2, 2019.

Yes, one of the giant social media, a competitor to Facebook, Google plus is now no more.

See the below screenshot a search result of my G+ Account.

Google started Google plus with much expectations in 2011.  But everything trampled down in a few years time.

Google Plus the Giant Social Media Platform Is No More! What newt? via #pvariel Share on X

As any new projects, this too was flourishing like anything in the beginning.  Everyone thought that it will surely beat the number one social media platform Facebook.

It was indeed a great going as thousands joined in no time as this was from Google.   Famous personalities actively involved in this platform.  Groups and subgroups were created and it went on well for a few years.

But sad to say that due to various reasons like the insufficient supporting staff (this was one of the reasons of closing down of their Knol platform) and the non-engagement of its members the popularity started decreasing day by day.  This made pave the way to the shutting down of this wonderful social media platform.

There is no need to worry about the demise of Google Plus. Here are some alternatives. via pvariel.com Share on X

And in the recent past’s security vulnerability that exposed the private data of up to 500,000 users added more trouble and forced them to close it before the declared date.

This type of shutting down is not new to the giant search engine Google.  Such types of shutting down happened several times before.

What next is the question now

As technology is fast growing, and for everything, there is an alternative.

Here too technology and developers are at the forefront to help out the internet users.

There is a good number of new alternatives already come up as well as older ones similar to that is good enough to carry on the same activities as the G+ did.

So there is no need to worry about the demise of Google Plus

Here below we are sharing a few good alternatives for your check and use.

MeWe – An Alternative To Google Plus And Facebook

MeWe is the recently developed platform is a good alternative to Google Plus.  In fact, this is one of the best bet to G+ as well as the giant social media platform Facebook.

It has an attractive tagline/slogan “Your private life is #Not4sale” brought in a great number of people.

Since the safety and security of our data are more important to internet users.  The earlier lessons with Facebook and Google+ many on the internet are afraid to share their personal information with such platforms.

But MeWe is an exception to this and they give the guarantee their users privacy.  It gives the full guarantee to its members.  Their slogan too, shout out this very clearly: “Your Privacy Life Is #Not4Sale”

In short, MeWe is a good alternative to Google Plus.

Google+ has always been a fail Google Product since its inception. The user interaction is very low and there is nothing strange that it will shut down eventually. Thanks for sharing the update.

  2. Hi Philip,

Sometimes it is good to let old things die to focus on more productive things. Google is doing the same. Where average user is spending more than 29 minutes on Facebook, the Google plus was getting only few seconds of people’s attention.

Glad you have shared this! Thanks a lot for the kind shout out about my post.
    I appreciate.
    Have a great weekend.

    Hey, great article
maybe some of the features that use Google Plus have an impact, such as commenting on blogs by using Google Plus, sharing information to Google Plus, and creating blogs with Google Plus. maybe we will wait for how Google will respond to it all. Anyways it’s sad to S3 the demise of another product from Google. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Great post Phil,
I admit I wasn’t a keen user of G+, but that was my mistake as it was pretty good for connecting.
Anyway, now that it’s gone, I guess I’ll check out MeWe. I like how they don’t sell your personal data to the highest bidder.
    Thanks:)
