Yes, You read it correctly.  The famous alternative of Facebook by Google the giant search engine The Google Plus is going to die soon.  I mean Google has decided to shut this platform forever due to some data breach.  But in this post, we present a few alternatives to Google Plus.

Google announced this few months back that they are shutting their shop of Google Plus within a period of 10 months.  The New York Times reporter Daisuke Wakabayashi reported this in a post.

This announcement is indeed a piece of shocking news to many of its users.

Google Plus is shutting down. But the users, need not worry, here are few alternatives to Google Plus. Share on X

Though Google did this type of killing of their products and platforms many times before.  But this will really a shock to many of the forum groups and individuals who are active in this platform.

Unlike the earlier killings like the prestigious platform an alternative to Wikipedia The Knol death, they provided its registered users to save their data/resources to another platform.  They have given advance notice to its users to migrate their resources to the famous platform the WordPress.com

Because of this announcement, most of them could save their resources to a safe place.  But sad to note that the interesting thing is that Google so far not announced an alternative to Google plus or any other type of migration facilities.

This is really a shocking factor to its crores of registered users.  But the users of Google plus you need not worry, there are few better alternatives to Google Plus.

In this post, I would like to mention and invite the Google plus users to utilize these amazing alternatives to Google Plus.

What to do before Google Plus shuts its shop?

Yes, Google plus users can retrieve their posts and other resources before it completely closes.  Google is making some wonderful option to migrate or save its users material to different safe places.

Since February 4, 2019, one cannot create a new Google plus account or can add new users.

If you are a blogger who uses Google Plus comment option please make note that this service will be disabled from March 7th of 2019.  And this comment option will be removed from Blogger by February 4th and other sites by March 7th.

But at the same time, though the Google Plus comments will be removed still G Suite users can see the comments they made in their G+ activity log.

In a notification, Google published a post on the major upcoming changes in their official site G Suit Admin Help.  Important changes to Google+ for G Suite due to the consumer shutdown

If you are a regular user of Google Plus you can still continue interacting with them says by Michael Guta in a recent article on Smallbiztrends.   Google will be releasing a new version of the Google Plus Android app on February 22, 2019. This will allow your G Suite Android users to continue using Google Plus on their mobile devices.

But you need to tell them to update the Google Plus Android app before March 7, 2019, because older versions of the app will no longer be supported.

  3. Hi Philip,
Your article is an interesting read. And yes, Google+ is going down, which means one needs to find and set-up account with the best alternative to G+. However, I’m still weighing my options to figure out the best platform second to G+ that’d work best for me. I’m yet to try the two alternatives you presented. I will find out more before making a decision about it. Thanks for sharing.

    Hey Philip

This is a very useful list. On google plus there were some amazing communities which were active. I remember I was the member of some Android Dev and Blogging communities. But sad now all will go to dust. Looks like G+ Admins are least bothered about our efforts. So sad to note this. I appreciate you for sharing these alternative platforms information through this post. Will surely check them and join.

    • Hi Moss,
What a joy t see you here again after a gap. :-)
I appreciate your time over here with your value-added feedback.
Yes, I agree with you we need to carefully watch and experience its claim and special features. Whichever is useful we can select and go forward, to know this we need to wait and watch at the same time WebTalk gives its main profits to its Beta users, for others the benefits will be less.
Thanks again for your visit and comment.
Please share with your friends too.
      Best Regards.

    • Thanks, Vikram for your maiden visit here and for the experiences you shared.
Yes, it looks like G+ is least bothered about the pain their subscribers took in joining the platform and associated with them. Yes, as they close down they must show some mercy to its users at least provide some space or alternatives to it.
But I am glad I could found few alternatives and I shared that here, let us utilize it in place of G+
      Keep sharing.

    • Hi Lisa,
Glad to see you here again, thanks for telling about this comment via twitter share and I immediately rushed to my email to check the comment but I found no mail, then I rushed to my dashboard and found this wonderful feedback in the spam folder and I retrieved it and approved it. Thanks a lot for the quick information via Twitter and thanks for the share thru twitter.
I am still surprised to note that some of my blog comments I make on others pages also land in their spam folders, to save the comment I inform them about it via chat or other social media, as most of them do not check their spam folders.
I have published a post in this regard some time back.

Hi never really did like G+ and I am really reluctant to put on anything on Facebook because of how it handles data. The fact that WebTalk pays its initial users really has me interested. Doesn’t hurt to make extra cash on side. haha

    Thanks for the article!

  14. Hi Philip,

Google tried hard in several ways to beat Facebook in the competition. And once again, it failed. I already joined both these networks as per your suggestions. But didn’t use them seriously. I am just sticking to Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest for social media promotions.
