How correctly to combine interesting content and SEO?

Posted in Guest Post, and SEO

Last updated on April 13, 2018

Sometimes when we’re so focused on making sure our blog content is SEO friendly, it can be easy to forget the passion behind why we’re writing the blog in the first place. When we put so much effort into one side of the technical side of blogging, it should be balanced between interesting content and SEO.  Otherwise, it can really take away the passion and interesting qualities a blog should present to the reader.

It can actually be hard when trying to figure out what kind of content you should write about or more importantly how you make that content interesting again.

As mentioned, the fact is you need to pay attention to the balance between interesting content and SEO. Because there is a fine line you can cross that will really make it difficult to publish great content.

No matter what kind of content you want to create, whether it’s for your own personal passion or your business, you need to be able to do it right. In this blog, we’ll be walking you through the process of how you can combine SEO and interesting content because it doesn’t have to be as hard as it might seem.

We’ll be going over everything you need to know to be able to create quality content with balance and before you know it you’ll be putting out great content that makes people want to support you and your brand.

Let’s get started!

Interesting Content And Original Content

Original content is one of the best and necessary ways to have a great SEO ranking, while also enticing your audience with quality content that’s actually interesting. When you have quality original content, not only will you stand out but you’ll also be making sure that you make a good impression on the individuals who want to read your work.

Aim to make sure that your blog is refreshing and that the content you create serves a purpose. If you don’t create content that’s unique to your brand and offers interesting information in a branded way, no one will link to your work or share it. So take the idea further and develop your own trends and articles that will get people talking. Start by brainstorming a list of ideas with your team before moving forward!

Interesting Content Should Focus On The Headline

You need a good headline if you want anyone to look at your blog post. No one is going to click on your blog if the title isn’t interesting in any way. To show that you have interesting content you need to make sure that you pay attention to the headline. Not only will it grab the reader and make them want to click, but it also gives them a taste of what kind of content you create.

A headline really does say a lot about the brand and the writer themselves. It’s been common knowledge within the blogging community that hundreds of people will read the headline but less than half will actually click to read the rest of the content. Headlines set the mood for the work, it invites the reader in.

Some might even argue that the headline is more important than the actual blog because, without it, no one would click the blog.

Make It Actionable

A great way to make readers want to be involved with what you create is by making the content actionable. This will tell the reader why they should get involved in the topic of the blog and why they should do it now. Typically when the main focus of a blog is actionable, it goes through the stages of telling the reader what the problem is, how they can make a difference, and why they should go through with making the difference.

This kind of marketing is very important and many people do share content like this more often because they want to make a difference when it comes to a subject that evokes any kind of interest or emotion.

Offer A Solution

When a reader is reading a blog, in many cases it’s because they want to learn something. That’s why many bloggers have a niche that they specialize at because they know a lot about that subject.

For example, if someone went to read a blog about a new recipe, they’re reading it because they want to learn how to make something or become a better cook.

Not to mention, the purpose of SEO and searching something online is to find an answer. That’s why from here on out you need to know what your niche is so you can create content within that subject, that way you can provide answers to individuals who seek information on the subject. This will make you stand apart and grow a brand that provides quality content that’s interesting to their readers.

Be Accurate

No matter what kind of content you plan to blog about on your website, no matter who reads it, you need to make sure that your reporting is accurate and you’ve cited all your information from reliable sources.

If you write an article about a topical subject and you report wrong information this will hit you and your brand hard. This will cause a wave of mistrust and it’s something you should always try to avoid just by making sure that the information you share is true and accurate no matter what.

Try linking in your article to other reliable sources, not only will this help boost your SEO ranking, but it will also help you gain a unique trust with your readers. Just by making sure you do this in each one of your blogs, you’ll be telling your readers that you care about the quality of your blog and the brand you represent.

Conclusion

Overall, no matter what you choose to blog about, always make sure that you have your priorities in order and find the balance between quality content and SEO. One shouldn’t outweigh another and they should both play a huge role in the content you put out to your audience.

Like we mentioned before, quality content is a choice. You could always choose to create filler content that no one engages with, or you could choose to dedicate more time and effort to make a blog post shine in all the right ways.

Whatever reason you want to create content, just make sure you’re balancing interesting topics and SEO, to create the best possible content you can make. Trust us, it makes a world of difference.

  1. Hi Irina,
    Great article.

Content and SEO go hand in hand. I think making content actionable is the key. We have to design content both for readers and bots but if our readers know what they can expect from the content and they get some actionable points after reading, then it wins.

  2. Hi Irnina,

Content and SEO both are related to each other. To rank high in Google search results, webmasters focus on SEO but without quality content a site cannot rank in top position.

Quality of content helps your SEO strategy become more effective.

    Your tips are helpful.

    Thanks!

When it comes to content marketing, I’d honestly forget all about SEO and just focus on writing great content! The SEO will follow if your writing is up there and provides value.

  9. Hi Philip and Irina,

Crafting interesting piece of content is off course the primary step in blogging. However, if we don’t optimize it for the search engines, then it may go unnoticed.

The title plays a great role as this is the first thing that a user sees in the SERP. So an eye-catchy yet SEO optimized title can help any content get higher ranking. And at the same time it also ensures high CTR.

Thank you for sharing the actionable tips here. Take care and have a great day :)

Yes, I fully agree with you that, “Good and Original content are one of the best and necessary ways to have a great SEO ranking”. I believe it because good contents on some of my blog ranked well even though I wrote them not focusing on Google but for human readers.

    Thanks for this great post.

  19. Hi Irina,
great post on combining content with SEO. Truly one can not perform without the other. Great content; no SEO= total search invisibility.
Great SEO and poor content= nothing at all.
