When is the best time to write?

The best time to write for some there are no fixed timings, but for others, there are specific time fixed.

For some,  the writings or creativity flows at any moment of the day and they jot it down and elaborate it accordingly.

Some of the famous writers do their writing in the early hours of the day while a few others do it in the silent nights.

Here is an infographic I just found out at Neil Patel’s pages which speaks different aspects on this subject.

I do find time in the night hours for writing, as mentioned in this infographic:

There are no distractions in the night hours, the surroundings are in sound sleep. The writer alone is active and things flow as it is!

Though I never thought on that way, it was the most convenient time for me and I was doing it that way from my early stages of writings.

Anyways, have you ever thought about your writing time or do you just write only when imagination or inspiration flows or do you have a specific timing fixed for this?

  2. Great share Phillip! Personally, I am a morning person when it comes to writing. This is often the best time for me. I am thrilled with the revelation that morning people solve problems at night while night people solve problems in the day time.
I have shared the above comment in kingged.com where this infographic was posted.

  3. Hey Philip,

One thing about me, I write whenever I get the time LOL… Yes, I’m on a limited schedule so I make the most of my time for blogging. So usually I would make an effort to write in my blog at night when I come home from work, and in the mornings and afternoons on the weekends when I’m off.

One thing I definitely agree with is when you produce dopamine, and your mind is distracted, that’s when your imagination tends to flourish and you come up with some great ideas. Do you know how many times I was at the gym, troubleshooting, taking a walk that I come up with a good idea and had to stop and jot it down in Evernote? It’s amazing how often it happens but I’m not complaining at all.

Thanks for the share Philip and I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

  4. Fantastic infographics and very interesting topic. For me, the best time to write is during night time when everybody are off to bed and that my surroundings are already peaceful.

    Hello Philip,

Ahhh well, I am a morning guy. Really love to write in the morning, right after getting up. I spend my first few hours starting with a brief walk OR just sit on the rooftop watching around and it’s the time I get my mind to charge up all the way to creativity and then jump on my laptop to start writing. :)

In the evening, I am kind of snoozing and hardly get my mind to wake up.

    Have a best day!

  8. Hi Phil,
to be honest, I’m a bit torn on this. On the one hand I like to write in the morning as that’s when I’m most rested.
But I also like to do it at deep night, for example 2AM because that’s when the town is quiet.
